This is likely the most obvious ask the reader ever.

Thanksgiving is upon us in the states and many families will be gathering together to eat, talk, laugh, and enjoy each other for a couple of days. So in the spirit of the season, I ask you:

What are you thankful for this year?

Me? I’m grateful for God’s graciousness, my wife, kids, family, relationships with friends and you the loyal reader.

Oh, and apple pie. Which I’ll be eating a lot of the next couple of days.

Hope your holiday is safe and enjoyable. Blessings.

I'm thankful for my girlfriend. She has been the source of my most amazing experiences in the last year (volunteering together in Sierra Leone last winter) as well as support through a very difficult year being unemployed.

I actually just wrote a post about this. This year, I'm thankful for Sexuality. But it's probably not what most people think when they hear that.

I am thankful for Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

I really struggled with that verse when I was in the midst of hell. I had a really horific time trusting in this promise. I couldn't see how God would possibly give this promise to me in my troubles. But he did! He is trustworthy and true to his promises. He really did use my situation and make good come from it.

I am so thankful that my pain wasn't wasted. I am so thankful that God is trustworthy and true to his word. I can't believe that he would notice such an insignicant speak of dust as me and love me and gave me his promises.

I'm thankful for my girlfriend's parents and that her father just said yes I have his permission/blessing to propose!

I am thankful I found a laxative that works.
For those of you with major health problems like me, you will understand that the things you once took for granted are extremely important.
For those of you who don't understand, trust me on this ;)
Oh, and I'm thankful for Simple Marriage. Honestly.

Stange as in may seem, besides the obvious like family and friends, I'm thankful for this site. I found it by googing 'in love with' because I was trying to get an answer to the difference between loving and being in love with. I got the answer here and my marriage / relationship with my husband is much stonger and more stable because of it. Perhaps I wouldn't be on marriage #4 if I had been able to figure this out long ago. Thank you.
