All this week I’m on vacation with my wife and kids in beautiful Vail, Colorado. We’ll be hiking, biking, playing on playgrounds, throwing rocks in the rivers, and basically anything else we can’t do in Dallas (okay, so we can do all these things in Dallas, but the scenery and the weather aren’t even close to the same!).

Blow up my marriage class

About a month ago, 11 couples began the 16 week class – Blow Up My Marriage. This class presents a radically different way to view what goes on in marriage and will help you through the real rough times that can happen.

Specifically, Blow Up My Marriage is for couples where one or both have said, “I’m not sure I’m in love with you anymore” and/or where the marriage is more like living with a roommate than a spouse or lover.

So far the emails and feedback I’ve received from class members has been great. One reported that when she tried one of the suggested activities, it worked great. She initially thought it worked because her husband is also in the class and was privy to the idea behind the activity, but found out that he had yet to read the week’s lesson and was unaware of the strategy beforehand.

One of the greatest things about the class is the format. It’s at your own pace, you can participate with or without your spouse, and I come to you with the material. No rearranging schedules to be able to join a call, and no travel involved.

While this class is already running, there will be another one offered in a couple of months. You can sign up to be notified before everyone else here.

There are also a couple of other classes coming soon, so I’ll be looking for people interested in taking part in the pilot offering of each course. Have a great weekend.

Please, take a look around and check out the newly digs. If you don’t want to venture off on your own to look around, let me give you a quick rundown.

You’ll notice that the feel of the site remains as I’ve tried to keep things clean and simple, but there are several changes.

The greatest aspect of this design, the content is front and center.

Many loyal Simple Marriage readers keep up with everything via email or RSS feed, which is awesome. But that also likely means you don’t regularly visit the site, you just want the content. In this design I’ve taken away some of the distractions and want to allow the content, as well as the products and resources available to help you, to be easy to find.

In SM 3.0 you won’t find any network or paid ads, but you will find affiliate ads on the home page, that’s it. You also will read about products and resources I think are worth your time or investment. And you will find regular promotion of my really cool stuff. If you’re not into products and cool stuff to help your relationships, no worries. I’m still glad you’re here.

One of my favorite changes is found on the single post pages.

Here all you’ll find is the post. No sidebars, no ads, no “hey click here because this is what the plugin for related posts thinks you’ll be interested in even though it has very little to do with what you just read” type of links.

I hoped to create a site that feels less like a blog and more like a site with great information so easy to find it takes little effort to find it (however, to actually apply the information, that effort is up to you).

The other new addition along with the new look, the Simple Marriage Products & Events. Here you’ll find everything we have to offer that will help your marriage.

Seems that some coding I was messing around with in preparation for launching the Marriage Jam Sessions really screwed up the works and shut everything down. So after hours of cleaning out the databases and recoding a bit, we are back up and running.

On a side note – thank the Lord for backups! If you do anything online, be sure you get a system that backs up everything for you. Worth every penny!

Anyway, glad to have everything up and going again. Please let me know if you notice anything amiss. I’m still working in the background to get everything functioning properly.
