    I remember the first time hub and I packed up the new baby and toted him 800 miles to see the relatives out of state. OMG! Everything I thought I had to take! Now I laugh at it but I filled the van with baby stuff. I even took a swing. What a goober!

    Oh and those are checkered board frames on those sunglasses that match the checkered board mirrors on my car. Now that is too cool if I say so myself!

  3. great analogy. i like the ideas of not overplanning and incorporating rest into the days. we can pack so much in that there is not time to enjoy and relax with one another. this happens on trips too-where we need a vacation from our vacation.

  4. Wonderful post! My personal favorite is #2, since I travel with my son all the time… life does get messy; it’s best to be prepared. Same with marriage: if you just expect that there will be messy moments, then you don’t get all stressed out when they happen.

    Oh, and Laurie: I love the glasses! =-)
