Simple Marriage Gets a New Look
Perhaps you’ve noticed something different at Simple Marriage, unless you’re a subscriber who rarely ventures beyond your feed reader or email (if that’s you, no worries and thanks for subscribing, to see the new look click here).
The new design is all part of the growth of Simple Marriage and it’s evolving into a business as well as a blog. My desire was to create a design that’s clean and simple – I think we’ve done it.
Please let me know of any bugs or glitches you may see on your end.
The functionality of the site is largely the same, although I am trying out some new things with this design.
First, the addition of the ShareThis feature at the end of every post. This is an all in one share and spread the word tool. If you read something you like and you want to share it with friends (or everyone else on the Internet) on Facebook or Digg or via email, click the ShareThis an select the medium you desire. Very simple.
Second, posts will now be displayed fully on the front page, meaning no more “continue reading…” text. The idea behind this is to help you the reader by spending less time having to click through to get the rest of the article, now you can stop by Simple Marriage, read the latest posts, and proceed on your way.
I’m interested in your feedback and input on the site’s feel as well as any features you’d like to have available.
The other thing I want to point out is an additional focus on Simple Marriage. You’ll notice from time to time some posts entitled – Simple Family: … In these posts I’m going to broaden the focus to write on the subject of parenting and the family. Many of us are parents and let’s face it, if there is one thing that gets in the way of marriage, it’s children. Simple Family posts will be written to cover these additional topics but the overall goal of experiencing more in marriage will still be the focus. I hope you enjoy them.
That’s all for now, I must get back to work on the 38 Day Build a Better Marriage Challenge – which starts next month!
Have a great weekend.

I really like not having to click to read the rest of the post. And I love the “streamlined” look.
Is there more information about the Better Marriage Challenge? I am on a mission to better my marriage. I want to re-find the love and the like we once had. Maybe I’ll take your challenge, or at least use some ideas from it. Thanks for your preparation.
I’ll announce more the first part of next week. Actually on Monday night next week.
Very nice-looking design. I like it!
even though it’s a neater design, i liked the warmth of the last one. it could be just me though
I liked the last design as well, but I needed to transition to a layout that allows for more versatility while still being clean.
Love the colors! Pink for female, blue for male, and purple for marriage. Very nice idea! I also like how you can preview what you have written below your typing. I would love a period of time to go back and edit but that may not be possible with your web site.
Corey, since you are having the Simple Parenting posts, are you not going to re-establish Parent to Launch? If not, then I will unsubscribe to that one. I loved the past SP post! good job!
Will Mary Jo still be contributing posts? I liked her insightful and challenging posts as well and it gave female input to SM occasionally.
I would like to challenge everyone to spread the word about Simple Marriage. Post the articles on your face book, send links on twitter, forward the emails to your friends. Let’s see if we can increase Corey’s subscriber numbers and start a chain reaction. Can you imagine how SM can bless marriages with our spreading the word? Corey, I already tweet you and Facebook you, now I will forward your email posts!!
Anyone out there care to helps others by joining me?
What are you seeing that’s pink and purple?
As for the editing your own comments, I still have not found a feature that allows this that works well, they’re a bit “cluncky” in design and operation. So for now, feel free to contact me if there is something you need corrected or changed.
Parent to Launch is still on hold, although likely to stay that way for quite a while.
Mary Ann has had quite a lot going on in her world lately so her efforts have been elsewhere. I hope to have her writing here again in the future because I too like her contribution to Simple Marriage. She brings a great perspective and challenge in her writing.
LOL! Tell Mary Ann, sorry for not getting her name right.
The right side of the page, background for your adds, recent entries, and topics is a pale pink on my screen. Also when the page is expanded to full screen, the boarders on both the right and the left sides are a subtle purple. It looked symbolic. I liked it. What colors are those supposed to be?
The colors are – the sidebar background is a beige, and the borders on both sides are tan.
Looks pink and purple to me! It looks really nice. Not sure I would cahnge it.
Corey,
Looks great! I can’t keep up with your wonderful world of blogging. I need a “Corey for Hire – Bloggie Style! (ha ha)”. I bow to greatness. =)
Jennifer
think you got hacked?… there are some ads with half-naked guys showing up on your site.
What time was it? That way I can track down more with the ad management company and with my host. Thanks.
syphilis ads …
I have only been reading a short time (referred by Simple Mom) but I enjoy your blog very much. I am very happy with the change you made so that we don’t have to click through to the rest of the story. Thanks!
