Of all the items I own, one of my favorite is a Kindle.
I usually end each day reading, and what better way to have several books in one place without adding to night-stand clutter.

I love reading outside in summer- at the beach, in the hammock, on a blanket on the grass. But for now, my favourite is in the rocking chair or in bed, nursing my baby.

In the bath! With 5 kids, the only place that I get a moments peace is behind a closed bathroom door.
At home – in bed, but even better is somewhere on holidays where I can really relax.
By far my favorite place to read is in bed laying next to my wife. I’ll bet that this will be the choice place for most responders. The usual sequence is that the light on my side is turned out before hers. You must understand that this is not a nightly routine but only on select nights when we postpone other activities and simply want to relax next to each other. Doing so is yet another expression of contentment and acceptance of each other.
I like to read anywhere I get the chance- in bed, in my living room recliner, outside.

The bathtub but I wouldn’t do it with a new Kindle
Nothing beats reading while sitting under a tree during summer. The sound of the wind stroking the leaves above you while you escape into your book…heavenly.
My favorite place to read is in bed!
I love to read anywhere, but my favorite spots are cozied up in bed (on cold days) and on the porch (on warmer days).
At this time of year, my favorite place to read is on the sofa, in front of a fire, with my husband reading next to me. (My favorite place of all time is the beach on our Honeymoon.)
I love curling up in a big chair that is in our spare room and reading away. Its near a window so I can get natural light but far enough away from the rest of the house that its nice and quiet.
My favourite spot to read? Me at one end of the couch with a book, facing the other end of the couch, where my wife is doing the same thing with a book of her own.

Oh, for those bathtime readers — I’ve heard that it works well to put the Kindle in a Ziploc bag. It’s not a touchscreen so the bag won’t get too much in the way.
Everywhere! But I especially love reading outside under (or in!) a tree in the backyard in the summer or sitting on the floor in a patch of sunlight inside in the winter.

I have a reclining chair in a sunny window. I call it my magic chair. The time magically flies when I am reading in that sunny spot.
My favorite place to read is in the cafeteria at school or at a fast food restaurant where I can sit and read and sip soda and just relax.

I love to read at the beach! We have a beach near our house where you can drive on with your 4X4 and it is so quiet and relaxing that you can lay in your beach chair and read for hours watching the waves and birds in the background!

My wife and I like to go to Barnes and Nobles and read there. We’ll each get a stack of books and find a single poofy chair to sit on. Sometimes, we’ll throw in a bit of variety by each picking a book that (1) reminds us of each other or (2) a book with a title that describes each other’s personality. It’s fun!

My favorite place to read is anywhere I can be alone for at least, 2-5 minutes! I work from home and am the primary caretaker for 2 great kids. But they always seem to be where I’m at. So, sometimes it’s in the bathroom, sometimes it’s in my room (I pretend I’m getting dressed) and sometimes, it’s at the kitchen table. LOL But, I do love to read!

For the occasional marathon reading session, love to read on my living room couch with a cozy blanket. Nightly, enjoy reading a few pages in bed.
My favorite place to read is at my parents’ cottage on a lake in central Ontario. We have a bench right by the water where you can hear the loons and other wildlife while you read. It is very relaxing and helps my concentration. Even when I cannot be there, I think of that place while I might be reading in my house, usually curled up on the couch with my dog at my side.

My favourite place to read is on a beach lounging bed, in a warm tropical spot.
I love reading in the bathtub. It is warm and you can add bubble bath or oils, light candles or even sip tea in there. It is the only place I can truly get away in our busy house.

Although I don’t read actual books all that often, I read a ton of blogs and internet articles. On my phone or my computer, and really just about anywhere. When I DO read a book lately, it’s been on my hubby’s Kindle, which I steal all the time, haha!
My favorite spot is a “nook”. When I was single, I always had my bed up against the wall, because I loved the feeling of curling up in a nook. Now that I’m married and our bed is in the center of the room, I’ve created a little spot under our stairs to be a nook. If I’m at a coffee shop, I look for the smallest, coziest corner. When I read, I escape into a whole other world..and I think the reason I like feeling curled up & hidden away is because in a way, that is what a good book feels like to me.

I love to love my home, especially my own bedroom. Amidst the craziness of life with three kids from toddler to teenager, I treasure time in my own little sanctuary — the glider/ottoman with a candle lit on the window ledge, maybe some nondistracting instrumental music playing, and something to drink next to me on the night stand. It’s the greatest treat the family can gift me — PEACE.

My favorite place to read is on our bed with my husband (with our dog curled up near our feet). It’s such a nice way for us to be physically connected (we often sunggle close and share a quick insight from our books) while still relaxing and having some solitude in a busy world! I like to read in bed before going to sleep
I read at the table with my son while he does his homework, on my comfy couch on Sunday afternoons and in my nice warm bed to end my day. I love to read and I love to read at all these places.
My favorite place to read is usually whereever my wife happens to be. On most Sunday mornings it’s here and I reading next to one another on the couch. It’s one more thing we love doing together. While we typically are quiet reading to ourselves, we are constantly carressing, touching, stroking, squeezing each other. I believe it brings more cohesion to the already strong bond we share.
I love your site. It has been highly informative and enlightening for me as a husband. We are both widowers and have both been cheated on at one point or another in our previous relationships. To say we’ve had to leanr the hard way is an understatement. At the same rate, I believe it IS the past hardships and heartbreaks that allowed us not to just settle for the next available partner. Neither of us were looking for anyone. Even though we had worked for the same college for 20 years and knew of each other, it wasn’t until we stumbled into each others lives at a Christmas party. That first kiss, on the dance floor, during the last song of the evening, led to one more kiss and then another. After almost 5 years and now being married for 10 months, we are still kissing and learning new things each and every day. It’s funny how when you quit trying so damned hard to find happiness that happiness finds you.

My favorite place to read is in my garden on our swing. Feeling the warm air and listening to the birds while I read is very soothing.

My favorite place to read right now is in the hallway at night. I sit on the floor in between my children’s bedrooms and read before bed. First I read a devotional, then some kind of book aloud. My kids are teens but as long as they are willing to listen I am going to keep reading aloud!

My reading spot is my big red comfy chair in the living room. The chair has been handed down through two generations and has appeared in our family red chair Christmas pictures. It’s been reupholstered several times during the years but has remained red. I like to put some cool jazz music on in the background and especially in the winter I’ll have a hot cup of tea. I have been experimenting with organic brews from a tea shop. My wife and I are heavy readers and the last couple years have been keeping track of our books to see who has read the most at the end of the year. No prizes just bragging rights. She is ahead of me so far this year. We gather the family on New years Eve and list favorite books, movies and TV shows for the year. We have been doing it for 25 years and keep our lists in a big album.
So my spot is the big red chair with a hot tea and music in the background. Gosh, I feel some reading time coming right now.
My favorite place to read is in our upstrairs guest room curled up in the nest of my papasan chair which was a surprise gift from my hubby. He saw me coveting one of the plush seats on a day out (flashbacks of fighting my college roommate for our single chair) but I was convinced we’d never get one to fit in the smaller room. Came home one day and there was the guest room – all rearranged – to fit the chair
My favorite place to read is anywhere near flowing water. On a kayak with the sun shining down on me is the best!

The one place I love reading most is this quiet little pond in my neighborhood. The waterfall is soothing and there’s no one around to disturb me and my book.

As a single mom (who loves reading this blog), my favorite place to read is anywhere I actually can get a few minutes to do it. Usual place: my office at lunchtime. Fantasy place: a feather bed in the middle of a sun-dappled meadow on a warm day with a glass of wine and a plate of chocolates nearby.
I love to read on the beach! The sound of the waves and the warm sun are just so relaxing. It makes it effortless immerse yourself in a good story!

My favorite place to read is anywhere I can get a quiet minute. I’ve read pretty much everywhere and in many situations. If the book is good enough it doesn’t matter what is going on around me.
My favorite place to read is outside in my swing by the campfire or relaxing in a chair in the pines.
When I first met my husband I hated reading but he took me to the bookstore because he HAD to read for an English lit class and wanted to have me reading so as not to bug him for other things. I discovered a love for reading and created a silent bond with my husband. My favorite spot to read is the one we started and still read in… Opposite ends of the couch and when one of us is done reading we play footsies to get the others attention. To this day, we still enjoy reading time and it’s extra curricular activities that usually follow! ????

My favorite place to read is curled up on my comfy sofa; followed closely by snuggled in bed on a rainy day. Of course, no matter where I read at home, I’m surrounded by my dog and cat to keep me company.
I love to read in a big, cushy chair. My favorite was a white microfiber chair that I owned while in grad school, and once my hubby and I settle into our next home, I’d love to replace it.
